In this writing workshop, each day features a single actionable teaching point focusing on a stage of the writing process: brainstorming, drafting, revising/editing and/or publishing.
On the first day of the workshop, children ages 6-9, will complete an on demand writing piece. We will then color and/or illustrate our current identity as writers and begin exploring different modes of idea generation.
After analyzing each child’s on demand writing, I will determine the scope of the remaining days of the workshop over the next 5 weeks. We will not meet on Nov. 6th or Nov. 27th.
At the end of the workshop, students will have completed the writing process and have a short published piece to share. They will also revisit their original illustration of themselves as writers and add or revise how they see themselves now.
Each session is from 3pm-4:30pm, and writing supplies will be provided. Join at any time for a prorated rate.
